Jazz Ensemble

The Cape May area is blessed with many highly talented jazz musicians. We are very fortunate that several are members or regular worshipers at our church. The Jazz Ensemble's core line-up includes keyboard, bass, drums, and vocals. However, most weeks this group is augmented by other vocalists and instrumentalists (Sax, Guitar, Oboe, English Horn). We invite all musicians to join us on a regular basis or just by the week.

The group plays jazz-tinged versions of traditional hymns, rollicking gospel numbers, jazz versions of contemporary Christian tunes and original songs. Sometimes the music is performed with the goal of getting people up on their feet and singing, clapping and dancing. Other times it is a catalyst for peaceful reflection. But always the jazz ensemble's music is designed to draw the congregation closer to God.
